Collin McKelvey’s Greenville TJ

Collin is a high school student in Greenville, SC, and this is what he has to say about his rig:

“My Jeep is a ’99 TJ Sport with the 4.0 liter I-6. It has a front Dana 30 axle with a 4.56:1 gear ratio and a Detroit EZ locker. The rear is fitted with a Dana 35C-clip axle filled with 4.56 gears and a Detroit locker. For the lift I have the Skyjacker 4-inch flex series lift which has heim joints on the control arms(upper and lower), on the front track bar and most of the other connections. I also have a one inch body lift to help clear the 33×15.50 Super Swamper SX’s. I also have a fullsize 33×10.50 Super Swamper Radial spare tire. The interior is outfitted with Herculiner bedliner, a CB, and a Panasonic CD player.

A new addition to the Jeep is the new Warn HS9500I winch.(After getting stuck in a four and a half foot deep mud hole and ruining the electrical system I figured that I needed a winch). Once I make enough money, I am going to add the Warn full floating axle kit to the rear axle. I have scored over 1100 on a 23 degree RTI ramp, and I am going to make some adjustments to the suspension to gain a little more articulation. In the making is a custom rear bumper, swing out tire carrier, trail rack, and a custom stuby front bumper. Oh yeah, I also have a steering box skidplate and rocker skids.”
