2001 XJ 4.0 Usually starts, but sometimes I have to unplug the cmp and replug it in to get it to start. Anyone experience this? What's the problem, I'm at a loss. Thanks.

i've never heard of unplugging/replugging working ... that's interesting. have you tried cleaning the contacts? new sensor? pretty common failure.

this is more common with a crank sensor than a cam sensor. but if unplugging and replugging works, I would say you have a loose wire in the connector.
