Default Project: Grandpa Jeep

So freerider pointed this out to me yesterday morning and we bought it.

So what it needs.....most likely just a head, its an 0331 head, and it got overheated, and then the problems started. Id bet the block is fine. So the plan for now is to grab a junkyard 0331 TUPY head, rebuild it, put that in, remove the grandpa steps, find some alloy wheels for it, general clean up, and then list it on bring a trailer.

Super clean. The hardest part of this Jeep will be finding sharp looking stock alloys and new tires.

Best find I've had in a long long time. Thanks to Freerider for pointing it out also!

A set of Grizzlys or Canyons with 30x9.5 BFG ATs or Good/year Duratracs, white letters out, will look perfect.

I’m looking at options for some stock alloys and good tires. 30x9.50 is a possibility, but they can also rub on stock. 235/75/15 wont rub.

I’m thinking this one will end up being a bring a trailer one.

Too bad it’s not flame red.

Pulled a used 2004 WJ 0331 TUPY head at the junkyard yesterday. Got the head cleaned up, valves lapped, and the high temp primer on. Head was real real clean inside, amazingly so. I would not have hesitated to run it as is, but I wanted to be able to say it has a rebuilt 0331 TUPY head to maximize the value.

Mmmmm milky:
