We are headed out of town Sunday or I'd take you up on that. Have fun.

Saturday was a good day. Beautiful weather and not too hot once we got on the trail, since spring creek provides some shade. My buddy Greg and Travis were there and we were joined by two other rigs, people Greg knew, both stock wheelbase wranglers on 37s, one YJ and one TJ. I didn’t get any pics of them.

Beautiful drive up:

Greg has a tricked out YJ. It features a 6.0l drivetrain, dana 60s, and shocks that have been fully tuned for some go-fast action on the trail. We traded rigs for a short time and I got bit. I want an LS drivetrain in mine.

My buddy Travis in his 22re powered 4Runner. This rig just flat works!

Also, unfortunately, I put a hole in the sidewall of my tire. I was at 15 psi and clipped a rock just right and put a hole in it. Swapped the spare on and I was back in business but it’s disappointing.

I ripped an old MTR sidewall. Stuck 17 plugs in it and drove it for another year. Lol

I am making plans to hit up the Independence trail system in Penrose this Sunday. This is one of the harder trails in CO, rated a 10.

Not sure on extra seat yet, it may be taken. I’m going to take lots of pics because the last time I ran this trail, I destroyed my Dana 30 and didn’t make it to the exit to even give it a shot.

Some of my friends and I are planning another trip out to Moab over Labor Day. I recommend anyone meet us out there for some shenanigans. I am going to be tearing down my steering after this weekend to add hydro assist before then.

Hmmmm...a month from today.

Crap, not likely to happen since I'm taking the 28th through the 1st off to go to Seattle. Not sure turning around and leaving again would go so well with work.

Started stripping the D60 last night.

Yesterday was an epic day of wheeling. Me and two of my buddies with 4Runners On 40” tires ran the trail with no real breakage to speak of. This trail kicked my ass, I was drug thru many of the sections of this trail. We got on the trail at 10:30 and made it off around 4:30. There was literally nobody else but us on the trail, so that was nice.

Every section of this trail is an obstacle, ready to swallow up tires and hang you up. I came here when I was on my d30/8.8 axles and broke three axle shafts and a ball joint in the front end. I had to rebuild the front axle on the trail and drive it off. This time, I drove it home without issue!

Dropping in: Bunker hill

Me, stuck; high centered under both diffs.

Stopping for lunch

Poser shot

Travis coming out of a-hole. This is how I came out too, except with a strap.

Ryan in the a-hole

Painted rock

A little worse for wear

More character

Rained right as we got to the exit. Nobody made it without the winch.

Ryan winching Travis

What you see coming up to the exit.

I’m so happy to have my Jeep back operational again. Not only that, but it’s built the way I have always wanted it (okay, it’s not done yet) so that I can do trails like this, beat on it, and drive home.
