Jeepy looks good! Awesome to see you still at your old redneck straightening ways (I always loved the benchtop chain down and bottle jack method you did wayyyyyyyyyy back when)!

Just got back from Windrock, had an absolute blast. Highlights from the trip:
-TJ did absolutely incredible, I couldn't believe what it went through without breaking a sweat. Line choice and knowing when to use momentum to my advantage were key. Ran some serious trails with rigs on 35s, 37s, and 39s and never had to use a strap or winch. I proved my skills and my vehicle for sure. I'm still blown away by how freaking capable that little bastard was.
-Only TJ damage was a rear wheel, the lugs loosened up on our way back to the house on the last day. I actually thought the Detroit was messed up, so I was relieved when it was just a $60 wheel almost falling off Bent up one of the front fenders a little during heavy articulation, I can straighten that out easy enough.
-Broke my nose the first night. Straightened it myself and carried on with the weekend. Still hurts.
-Ram towed incredible, I'm definitely sold on this turbo now.
-A coworker with a buggy on 41s had catastrophic breakage on the midpoint of one of the hardest trails in the park after breaking off from the group. A team of us went on a rescue mission, with me piloting one of our company JLs on 39s. Hardest trail I've ever run, let alone in a full body rig towing a dead buggy. Good driving, great spotting, great teamwork, and lots of winching got us out before dark, only damage was a scuffed flare and a wheel protection ring. It was epic.
-Pics to come.

Naturally I didn't get a single pic on the hard obstacles because I was busy spotting or driving, and so far no one has any good ones of me. One of our hobbyist photographers still has his to edit/upload so hopefully he got some good ones. Meanwhile here are the unimpressive ones.

sometimes it's more fun wheeling something mechanically less capable, makes the driver-mod that much more important.

Part 2

Not that you can tell, but super steep off camber downhill barely avoiding JT body damage.

Typical view after following 37s and 39s all weekend on 33s

The recovery mission was sketchy but again very little pics from me since I was driving the primary recovery rig. The recovery vehicles:

100% true. I had way more fun in this than I did last year in my JL on 37s, partly the challenge factor, partly because I wasn't worried about damage. Most fun I've ever had wheeling. The maneuverability and importance of line choice were a blast. There were multiple times I showed up the JLs on 39s due to a combination of driving experience and nimbleness, and the TJ didn't see the business end of a tow strap or winch all weekend. Definitely need to add rocker protection and replace the now dented OEM fuel skid though

I think it needs a LV1 swap now. Twice the power, 2000rpm more headroom, and 200lbs lighter. I'm really gooder at spending other people's time and money!

You spelled L87 wrong. If you're going to spend my money at least get the cylinder count right.

But then you'd need to replace the axles! Imagine V8 horsepower and torque of yore, but in 4 cylinder weight of yore... in a package about the size of a 4 banger.

both y'all are wrong ... 1.9L TDI! tiny, light, same HP as stock, WAY more torque, 2-3x MPG. factory trans stays in the stock location so nothing downstream has to change.
