Decided to re-do the orbital mount to get it so the hoses face up....for making sure there wont be air pockets. Going to use some DEI heat shield wrap stuff to protect it from the exhaust temps.

Some updates:
Got the fuel cell notched to clear my upper links at full bump. Skid plate notched, and a new 05/06 fuel pump in the cell in place of the 97. Also built the hold down brackets. Here's the start of the hold down brackets: ![]() Ran -6an stainless braided hose from tank to fuel rail. Also picked up an evap system from an 05 TJ (required for Hemi) and mounted it under the hood. Ran -6an stainless braided hose from tank to evap system. Figured out what oil filter relocation kit to use and ordered it. Showed up yesterday. Its from Canton racing, and the they are black anodized billet aluminum. The piece that connects to the motor can be rotated 360 degrees depending on where you need the hoses to go, and the hoses exit at 90 degrees. The cheaper ones pointed the hoses straight down and I wouldnt gain much. The hoses and fittings I picked up from work, Sniper Motorsports -10an.

While Im waiting on parts and my tubing bender to be delivered, I thought Id cut out a hole in the fenders for the genright perforated insert. I was going back and forth on this idea, but when I saw genright put this particular insert in their clearance section for only 14.99, I thought Id try it. One side in...just need to clean up the cuts.

Last week my JD2 model 3 Bender was delivered and I built a stand for it. I was then able to start making more progress on the Jeep.
![]() I did manage to get some work done this weekend with the bender. Finished up the drivers side rock slider. I liked the look of the PSC ricochet rockers because of the integrated "step"....my wife is short and will need it. The PSC ones come out 5" from the body...Mine are 4.25-4.5". I was going back and forth between the way I build it, vs. having the tube go up at an angle. In the end I decided on this, because Ill have good clearance with 42's, and with the full width axles and tires the 4.5" from the body wont be that big of a deal. ![]() ![]()

Added some tube to the front bumper and tied it in to the coilover hoops.....then ran out of wire for the welder.
![]() ![]() Also picked up 4 of these to put the Jeep on....now I can roll it against one wall of the garage when not working on it to get more room

I was a little nervous putting it on there...but, it seems to work! It doesn't roll THAT easy, I need to take a mallet and knock the wheels in the direction i want to push it....

So I've been trying to track down a transmission mount for this as my transmission didn't come with one. I cant find an aftermarket one for an 06, and the OE replacement ones are a monstrosity that looks different than an 05. I figured Id just try a universal mount from Energy Suspension and make a bracket for it....cheaper, and I'd have to make a bracket anyway for the factory one.
So....here's the two options I have. The first one is pretty big. Overall width is 8.75", height is 3.25". It says that it fits older chevy's with a small and big block. ![]() The second option is much smaller, 2" tall, 5.25" overall width. Its a replacement for older camaros, chevelles, corvettes, etc....even older suburbans and vans with the small and big block motors. ![]() The smaller one would definitely fit better and give me more clearance...just not sure if its enough support for the Hemi torque. The motor mounts use polyurethane, so that will limit flex, so this might not be that bad. So, what do you guys think? Would the smaller one work ok?

You could do like I did...and use a DOM Sleeve/Poly bushing (the ones used in suspensions) to hold it up...

Well, I decided to go with the smaller one as I'll also be doing an atlas support ring.
Also...this FINALLY arrived yesterday: ![]()

Pulled the front axle out this weekend to get in and start welding everything up, adding gussets, etc. I added some small tabs to the coilover hoop and other tube to mount some inner rubber fender liner like the factory stuff. Try to keep some mud out. I finished up the top radiator mount just before a hot piece of steel landed on my plasma cutter hose....burned a hole right through it.

Finally got around to working more on the Jeep this past weekend after having several thing come up. Winding down now so I can get back on this more hopefully.
First, the LED light bar is F-ing bright. Second, I worked on tying my coilover hoops back into the cage A-pillar to help prevent some frame sag/flex. Here's what I came up with...drivers side is done. Used a flange at the firewall and a 6-bolt clamp around the A-pillar: ![]() Kind of hard to see this, but I went back from the coilover hoop and bent down to the frame. Then at that bend I went to the firewall and flange. Orbital and ARB compressor mounts on the tubes. Makes it easy to put the fenders on now. ![]() ![]()

Im just trying to find some time now. Not a lot to update with photos, but here is a shot of the clamp around the A pillar with the tube that goes to the firewall under the dash.
![]() I also lowered the front seats about 1.5", they were just too tall. Im now saving up for my engine harness. In the mean time I bled the brakes to check for leaks and I have a set of MSD coilpacks coming for the Hemi....

How'd you lower the seats? Fabbed up some new brackets? I'm closer to the roll bar than I'd like to be, myself.

I had the factory seat sliders in there, and just decided to take them out completely. That lowered it about 1.25 - 1.5" overall.
