2004 Jeep® Product Highlights
JEEP BRAND
- Freedom and capability to “go anywhere, do anything”
have always been hallmarks of the Jeep® brand around the world.
- The Jeep brand continues to deliver on the promise to provide rugged,
versatile vehicles with authentic four-wheel drive capability.
- At the same time, the Jeep brand is broadening its appeal with vehicles
such as the new Wrangler Rubicon, which provides extreme off-road capability
right out of the box, or the Jeep Liberty, which offers even more on-road
refinement with leading Jeep 4x4 capability.
Award-winning Lineup
- The Jeep Wrangler continues to be the true, original Jeep vehicle
that delivers unmatched open-air fun and freedom. For 2004, the new
Wrangler Rubicon model will continue with expanded production.
- The Wrangler Rubicon delivers extreme off-road capability previously
reserved for highly modified vehicles loaded with aftermarket equipment.
- Created to expand the breadth of the Jeep lineup, Liberty has not
only captivated traditional Jeep buyers; it also has attracted a new
generation of sport-utility vehicle buyers who value the best combination
of on-road refinement and capability. True to Jeep heritage, Liberty
stands apart from the new generation of less-capable compact sport-utility
vehicles.
- The flagship of the Jeep brand is the Grand Cherokee, which combines
the four-wheel drive capabilities of Jeep vehicles with comfort, technology
and a well-appointed interior.
- The 2004 Grand Cherokee debuted earlier in the year with a new appearance,
expanded model line and unique features. For 2004, the new Special Edition
model has the monochromatic exterior design cues of the Limited model
with a unique package of features.
Jeep Owners Share the Experience
- By building on its owners’ enthusiasm, the Jeep brand continues
at the forefront of relationship marketing by offering owners unequaled
opportunities to explore their vehicles’ abilities and share firsthand
their experiences with fellow Jeep drivers through three owner programs:
Jeep Jamboree, Camp Jeep™ and Jeep 101.
- For more than 50 years, Jeep owners and their families have been participating
in weekend four-wheel drive adventures called Jeep Jamborees. Jeep Jamborees
are family-oriented events designed to allow Jeep owners to hone their
skills in challenging off-highway situations. Every year, more than
7,000 owners participate in the more than 30 Jeep Jamborees held across
the country, including the famed Rubicon Trail.
- Camp Jeep, one of the nation’s largest and best-attended ownership
gatherings, is now in its ninth year. Since the first Camp Jeep in Camp
Hale, Colorado, in 1995, more than 55,000 people from across the country
have attended this annual summer event. This three-day fun-filled family
vacation destination includes a variety of lifestyle activities including
fly-fishing, four-wheel drive trails, mountain biking, all-terrain mountain
boarding and outdoor concerts. For 2003, Camp Jeep will return to Oak
Ridge Estate in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Nelson County, Virginia,
in June.
- The newest Jeep event to teach owners about their vehicle’s
capability is the Jeep 101 instructional course.
- At Jeep 101 events in 12 cities across the United States, thousands
of Jeep owners and prospective owners encounter steep downhill grades,
log-crossings and sand banks as they learn the basic skills of safe
off-road driving. Jeep 101 is open to the public as part of a multi-branded
Chrysler Group event with Dodge City and Chrysler Proving Grounds, where
participants can drive Chrysler and Dodge brand vehicles.
- The Jeep brand has been an internationally registered trademark since
before 1950. To protect the Jeep trademark, Jeep uses licensing agreements
with more than 60 companies around the world to develop and produce
products that reflect the same attributes as the legendary Jeep vehicles,
and complement the Jeep lifestyle.

engine operation at highway speeds.

loads. There is no need to shift levers; Quadra Trac I will respond
automatically when there is a loss of traction.
- The Quadra-Trac II on-dem and transfer case with low range is standard
on the Special Edition and Limited models and optional on Laredo. The
Quadra-Drive system, which combines the Quadra-Trac II transfer case
with Vari-Lok® axles, is able to send nearly 100 percent of the
developed engine torque to just one wheel for outstanding capability
both on- and off-road. Quadra-Drive® is optional on Limited and
standard on Overland.
- The Quadra-Trac II transfer case incorporates a progressive, speed-sensing
torque transfer coupling. Vari-Lok axles use a progressive, hydro-mechanical
