So when I chipped my jeep one of the specs was to put in a 180* thermostat. Ever since it keeps throwing the engine light. Two of the codes say that engine stayed cold for too long or engine didn't reach 176* within 20 minutes.
Any thought on getting around this. Right now my fix is electrical tape.

Go back to a higher thermostat and see what performance difference there is? Buy a different chip that resolves the CEL issue too?

P0128?
Put a stock thermostat back in it. No need for a lower one.

Thanks for the feedback. If remember it was the P0128 code.
I think I'll just stick with the tape fix. I like the idea of running the a bit cooler when having to get into the throttle at slow speeds. This winter I was having to ram-rod through some deep snow and noticed the temp get over 210. It has a new pump and radiator.
Plus the thermostat is kind of a fukkr to replace on that thing.
